About our senior executive

Ian is a fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Planners. Over the past 30 years, he has worked at director level with trust companies in Guernsey, Jersey, Switzerland and Mauritius. He is the managing director of Regent Mercantile Holdings Limited, a Bermuda based privately owned investment company. He is licensed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission as a personal fiduciary.

In addition, Ian holds or has recently held non-executive roles in listed and unlisted commercial property companies, investment management companies, captive insurance companies, an infrastructure company and a property and hotel group.

Ian is a former chairman of the Guernsey Association of Trustees, and member of the STEP Guernsey Committee.

He has often spoken at national and international financial services conferences.

Recruiting suitably qualified and experienced non-executive directors resident in international financial centres can be a challenge for many companies.

Via Executive can provide introductions to non-executives for both trust and fund administration companies operating from international financial centres as well as board members to funds and insurance companies located in these centres.

The growing globalisation of business and increasing sophistication of tax regimes is encouraging many companies to establish a physical presence in an international finance centre. Starting an operation in a new jurisdiction is often a high risk/high stress exercise particularly if there is a requirement to hire local staff or relocate staff to the jurisdiction.

Via Executive provides a cost effective solution advising on the initial phase of establishing the business. We offer a combination of experience and local knowledge to support an institution looking to redomicile into an international financial centre.
